Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a skin care treatment that usually uses a minimally abrasive instrument that gently sands your skin, removing its thicker - uneven outer layer.
This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks.
Microdermabrasion Treatments:
- Improve the appearance of age spots and diminish black heads.
- Improve the appearance dark patches on the skin also known as hyperpigmentation.
- Exfoliates the skin, causing a refreshed more youthful appearance.
- Diminish the appearance of deep stretch marks.
- Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Reduce and/or eliminate large pores.

Microdermabrasion helps thicken your skins collagen, resulting in a younger, more youthful complexion and appearance. Collagen is a protein in your skin. Collagen is much more abundant when you are a child. Collagen is responsible for making the skins appearance firm and smooth. One’s collagen production decreases as we age, resulting in loose and uneven skin.
Microdermabrasion is typically only recommended for people with fair or light skin. As for people with darker complexions can result in scarring and even discoloration of the skin.
Aside from the aforementioned, the results of microdermabrasion can still be effective on all skin types. However, it is not effective for deeper issues such as scars.
Skin is temporarily left pink after a treatment but the skim fully recovers within 24 hours. Small crystals are applied onto the skin which gently remove the outer layer of the skin. This technique is not very aggressive, so it does not require numbing medicine. Microdermabrasion is basically an exfoliation and skin rejuvenation treatment that leaves the skin looking softer and brighter.
After treatment, one should avoid sun exposure for a few days and use natural facial moisturizers with SPF. We recommend using the Geneva Naturals Advanced Anti-Aging Cream.
